As spring swiftly passed by, I knew that I wouldn’t have long to get in another snowshoe hike. So at the end of April I headed out to Echo Lakes to see what I could find. It was a beautiful day and conditions were great. There were two directions I could go: 1. take the low road and hike along the lakes, or 2. take the high road toward Becker Peak to get some views. I was feeling ambitious, so I, along with my trusty companion Adobe, trekked up toward Becker Peak. Total distance was 3.8 miles round trip.
To get to the this hike, take Highway 50 east towards Echo Summit. Turn left at Johnson Pass Road and follow the road until you get to the snow park lot on the right. As we sat in solitude, I couldn’t help but be in awe of the views. I thought of time and how constant it is and quickly it passes. I thanked him for noting his presence as we made our way back down the mountain. At the end of the day, we were tired and satisfied.
